Brian Baker's online portfolio
CANADA (PP) – You’ve mined the Internet, and look what you have come across.
Welcome to a little nugget I’d like to call puffingod.com. It’s the fourth version of my website and it’s gone through some major changes, adapting with the trends that have afflicted the wide web.
For all intents and purposes, it is meant to be an online portfolio of my work in the journalism field.
But I have always been the kind of person to make my likes, dislikes and interests vocal, and in some of the other areas of the website, you’ll find a biography – written in the style of an entertainment article, my favourite music, movies and literature as well as some general fluff.
I hope you find it interesting. My professional resume is available, as well as some of my articles from the Town Crier, Daily Commercial News, Toronto.com and Replay Magazine.
I’ve also added some of my favourite pieces from the Canadian University Press and The Window, a student newspaper at the University of Toronto.
This gives readers the opportunity to see how I’ve progressed as a journalist over the years, and where my interests were and are.
However, this website is not a blog. Not to irk any readers out there, but my own perspective on blogs tends to be one of disinterest.
My site is not meant to be interactive. In the autonomous world of the Internet, I’d best leave
debates on topics raised on this website at the previous page you
visited.
No offence, I am just an in-person kind of guy.
The disclaimer tone aside, I believe behind every writer there is a beating heart
bursting with creativity and a ticking brain ready to formulate the next great
novel.
Like the quote by gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson says, you need to ruffle a few feathers to keep on spinning on this rock we call Earth.
Enjoy the site, enjoy the visuals and keep on rockin’.
