Top 25

Top 25 Albums

I’ve got over 700 CDs in my collection. I love music and appreciate having the tangible evidence of rhythms in my hands.

The act of putting a disc in the carousel is all part of the enjoyment. Downloading it from Apple’s iTunes does not titillate me nor do I want to use my computer as a jukebox.

So, if I happened to be given an ultimatum of having to choose only 25 albums — excluding compilations or best ofs — here are 25 original cuts that I would keep in my collection.

My favourite tunes are included, the top one, italicized.

  1. Melissa Auf der Maur’s first album is awesome! Listen to St. Vincent’s latest album ‘Strange Mercy’ – I think you’ll be blown away.
