Most teenage boys had posters of famous women on their bedroom walls or in their lockers at school during the 1990s.
I was no different. I grew up during that decade. I was big on Cindy Crawford, as opposed to Pamela Anderson. But Cindy was more in the early ’90s than Pam.
The supermodel was a cultural touchstone of the 1990s. Cindy Crawford and her contemporaries preceded the fashion industry’s heroin chic. Most of the models from Cindy’s era would drift into Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated, making those brands, arguably, more prominent.
