One of the aspects of my second iteration with the Town Crier that I have appreciated is the increased photography.

I’ve been able to hone my skills behind the camera lens since joining up with the troupe a year ago, and it’s been enjoyable. So much so, that I’ve decided to branch out on my own and take photos of events outside of regular job setting.

Opportunities have been granted to me outside of the journalism post, which include the Black Museum: Lurid Lectures for the Morbidly Curious — a lecture series in Toronto on horror cinema; Iris Blue Event Staffing‘s Christmas party and Evil Dead: The Musical‘s reunion bash.

Then there have been stories that I went through the process of doing the interview, photographs and article, only to have it no go through in the Town Crier, as was the case with my piece on David Miller and the World Wildlife Fund.

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to step out with model-actress Theresa Longo, as well as shoot a couple of matches at the Rogers Cup being held up at the Rexall Centre.

It’s a part of my current job that I’d like to pursue further, having invested in a flash and diffuser in the past couple of days.

So, if you need a photographer to help you out, take a few headshots, snap a few action shots, don’t hesitate to look me up, touch base, or give me a call.
