Music has always played a big role in my life.
Everywhere I go, I always have headphones strapped to my noggin. Tunes tend to send the creative centres of my brain into overdrive.
I’ve brainstormed great story ideas — not journalism ideas — but fiction. If I want to flush out an idea I’ll throw something energetic on, and it helps spur me further.
My brain is full of useless song lyrics. They’re dormant, but when a song that I haven’t heard in a while comes on the radio, or I hear it in a bar — boom! I remember the lyrics, the hooks, the bridges like they were never lost.
So, I need to continue my Top 25 when it comes to songs.
